Note; Can a Juror determine truth without hearing ALL of the evidence?  It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that one hear ALL of the evidence, beginning with Part #1 of these posts!

       In the previous four posts, the JURY heard the TESTIMONY of DANIEL.

       According to that testimony, the FIRST THREE of THE ONLY FOUR WORLD SUPERPOWERS that were to arise out of the earth were identified as;

  • BABYLON

  • FOLLOWED BY MEDIA / PERSIA

  • FOLLOWED BY GREECE

       It was also DANIEL'S TESTIMONY that FOUR NOTABLE HORNS / KINGS / KINGDOMS would arise out of GREECE AFTER Alexander the Great's death.

       At this time, we would call "DOCUMENTED HUMAN HISTORY" to the witness stand.

Persia captures Babylon

       In 539 BC, the Neo-Babylonian Empire fell to Cyrus the Great, king of Persia, with an unprecedented military engagement known as the Battle of Opis.

       The famed walls of Babylon were indeed impenetrable, with the only way into the city through one of its many gates or through the Euphrates, which ebbed beneath its thick walls.

       Metal gates at the river's in-flow and out-flow prevented underwater intruders, if one could hold one's breath to reach them.

       Cyrus (or his generals) devised a plan to use the Euphrates as the mode of entry to the city, ordering large camps of troops at each point and instructed them to wait for the signal.

       Awaiting an evening of a national feast among Babylonians (generally thought to refer to the feast of Belshazzar mentioned in Daniel V), Cyrus' troops diverted the Euphrates river upstream, causing the Euphrates to drop to about 'mid thigh level on a man' or to dry up altogether.

  • POINT FOR JURY CONSIDERATION

       Does this mention of the Euphrates River DRYING UP strike a nerve with those that consider the SIXTH VIAL of Revelation 16?

REVELATION 16

12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

       The soldiers marched under the walls through the lowered water.

       The Persian Army conquered the outlying areas of the city's interior while a majority of Babylonians at the city center were oblivious to the breach.

       The account was elaborated upon by Herodotus, and is also mentioned by passages in the Hebrew Bible

       Cyrus later issued a decree permitting captive people, including the Jews, to return to their own land (as explained in 2 Chronicles 36), to allow their temple to be rebuilt back in Jerusalem.

       Under Cyrus and the subsequent Persian king Darius the Great, Babylon became the capital city of the 9th Satrapy (Babylonia in the south and Athura in the north), as well as a centre of learning and scientific advancement.

       The city was the administrative capital of the Persian Empire, the preeminent power of the then known world, and it played a vital part in the history of that region for over two centuries.

      DANIEL 7 TESTIFIED of a SECOND BEAST LIKE A BEAR with THREE RIBS in it's mouth;

The Persian Empire, the preeminent power of the then known world WAS THIS SECOND BEAST;

Those THREE RIBS were;

  • RIB #1  =  MEDIAN KINGDOM

  • RIB #2  =  LYDIAN KINGDOM

  • RIB #3  =  BABYLON

"DOCUMENTED HUMAN HISTORY" CONFIRMS that Cyrus the Great (Cyrus II of Persia) would advance to defeat the Median, the Lydian, and the Babylonian Empires, opening the way for subsequent conquests into Egypt and Asia minor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_the_great
     Alexander the Great (Alexander III of Macedon) defeated the Persian armies at Granicus (334 BCE), followed by Issus (333 BCE), and lastly at Gaugamela (331 BCE).

       Afterwards, he marched on Susa and Persepolis which surrendered in early 330 BCE.

       From Persepolis, Alexander headed north to Pasargadae where he visited the tomb of Cyrus, the burial of the man whom he had heard of from Cyropedia.

       In the ensuing chaos created by Alexander the Great's invasion of Persia, Cyrus the Great's tomb was broken into and most of its luxuries were looted.

       When Alexander the Great reached the tomb, he was horrified by the manner in which the tomb was treated, and questioned the Magi, putting them to court.

       On some accounts, Alexander's decision to put the Magi on trial was more about his attempt to undermine their influence and his show of power in his newly conquered empire, than a concern for Cyrus's tomb.

       Regardless, Alexander the Great ordered Aristobulus to improve the tomb's condition and restore its interior, showing respect for Cyrus.

       From there he headed to Ecbatana, where Darius III had sought refuge.

       Darius III was taken prisoner by Bessus, his Bactrian satrap and kinsman.

       As Alexander approached, Bessus had his men murder Darius III and then declared himself Darius' successor, as Artaxerxes V, before retreating into Central Asia leaving Darius' body in the road to delay Alexander, who brought it to Persepolis for an honorable funeral.

       Bessus would then create a coalition of his forces, in order to create an army to defend against Alexander.

       Before Bessus could fully unite with his confederates at the eastern part of the empire, Alexander, fearing the danger of Bessus gaining control, found him, put him on trial in a Persian court under his control, and ordered his execution in a "cruel and barbarous manner".

       Despite having succeeded to conquer the whole of the Persian empire, Alexander the Great, was nonetheless unable to offer a stable alternative.

       After his death, Alexander's once massive Persian empire was broken into and succeeded by few smaller empires the most significant of which was the Seleucid Empire, ruled by the generals of Alexander and their descendants.

      On either 10 or 11 June 323 BC, Alexander died in the palace of Nebuchadnezzar II, in Babylon, at age 32.

       Details of the death differ slightly – Plutarch's account is that roughly 14 days before his death, Alexander entertained admiral Nearchus, and spent the night and next day drinking with Medius of Larissa.[

       He developed a fever, which worsened until he was unable to speak.

       The common soldiers, anxious about his health, were granted the right to file past him as he silently waved at them.

       Diodorus recounts that Alexander was struck with pain after downing a large bowl of unmixed wine in honour of Hercules, and died after some agony.

       Arrian also mentioned this as an alternative, but Plutarch specifically denied this claim.

       Alexander's death was so sudden that when reports of his death reached Greece, they were not immediately believed.

       Alexander had no obvious or legitimate heir, his son Alexander IV by Roxane being born after Alexander's death.

           According to Diodorus, Alexander's companions asked him on his deathbed to whom he bequeathed his kingdom; his laconic reply was "tôi kratistôi"—"to the strongest".

       Arrian and Plutarch claimed that Alexander was speechless by this point, implying that this was an apocryphal story.

       Diodorus, Curtius and Justin offered the more plausible story that Alexander passed his signe ring to Perdiccas, a bodyguard and leader of the companion cavalry, in front of witnesses, thereby nominating him.

       Perdiccas initially did not claim power, instead suggesting that Roxane's baby would be king, if male; with himself, Craterus, Leonnatus, and Antipater as guardians.

       However, the infantry, under the command of Meleager, rejected this arrangement since they had been excluded from the discussion.

       Dissension and rivalry soon afflicted the Macedonians, however.

       The satrapies handed out by Perdiccas at the Partition of Babylon became power bases each general used to bid for power.

         After the assassination of Perdiccas in 321 BC, Macedonian unity collapsed, and 40 years of war between "The Successors" (Diadochi) ensued before the Hellenistic world settled into four stable power blocks:

  • the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt

  • the Seleucid Empire in the east

  • the Kingdom of Pergamon in Asia Minor

  • Macedon

       In the process, both Alexander IV and Philip III were murdered.

       For THE RECORD, since the testimony of DANIEL IS a part of "Documented Human History",  let us briefly reflect upon DANIEL'S previous TESTIMONY.

DANIEL 8

19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end [shall be].

20 The ram which thou sawest having [two] horns [are] the kings of Media and Persia.

21 And the rough goat [is] the king of Grecia: and the great horn that [is] between his eyes [is] the first king.

22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

       At this time, based upon the testimony of DANIEL and "Documented Human History", THE DEFENSE WOULD SUBMIT TO THE JURY;

  • that the identities of the FIRST THREE of the FOUR WORLD SUPERPOWERS HAVE BEEN PROVEN BEYOND A DOUBT.

  1. BABYLON
  2. PERSIAN EMPIRE
  3. GREECE

       DANIEL TESTIFIED that FOUR HORNS / KINGS / KINGDOMS would rise up OUT OF "ALEXANDER THE GREAT'S" GREEK EMPIRE.

       - "DOCUMENTED HUMAN HISTORY" TESTIFIED that FOUR KINGDOMS DID rise up AFTER ALEXANDER'S death.

            -  Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt

            -  Seleucid Empire in the east

            -  Kingdom of Pergamon in Asia Minor

            -   Macedon

       But what of the FOURTH AND FINAL KINGDOM that was to rise up out of the earth?

       DANIEL 8:23 testifies that towards the END OF THESE FOUR HORNS / KINGS, the FOURTH and FINAL BEAST / KING/ KINGDOM WILL COME UP.

22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

23 And in the latter time of THEIR kingdom,

when he transgressors are come to the full

, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

        Who or what IS this FOURTH "DREADFUL" BEAST / WORLD KINGDOM that shall destroy the mighty and the holy people?

        ACCORDING TO "DOCUMENTED HUMAN HISTORY", THE ROMAN EMPIRE was the World Superpower AFTER GREECE.

       IS the Roman Empire this FOURTH AND FINAL WORLD SUPERPOWER that will rule until Christ's return?

       Doesn't "Documented Human History" appear to support that the Roman Empire received it's "deadly head wound" about 1600 years ago?

            Is it EVEN possible that the "LONG DEAD" Roman Empire could be the 4th and FINAL beast that -

would still remain in existence even to this day?

        In the next post, when DANIEL returns to the Witness Stand, we will examine DANIEL'S TESTIMONY REGARDING THE FOURTH AND FINAL KINGDOM with IRON TEETH, THAT WAS TO RULE UNTIL Christ's Second Coming.
